"Campaign" on Terror?

As the Washington, DC area is placed under another terrorism alert, the media is abuzz with speculation over whether politic played any role in the raising of the alert level.

Well, I have no idea if the Bush Administration would be diabolical enough to raise the threat level unnecessarily, and I certainly hope they would not. However, I do know that once the threat level is raised, they have no hesitation to use it as a campaign issue.

Mr. Ridge, the former Republican governor of the vital swing state of Pennsylvania, did not shrink Sunday from taking a side.

"We must understand that the kind of information available to us today is the result of the president's leadership in the war against terror,"
