I'm shocked, shocked....

There is a famous quote from the movie Casablanca by Captain Renault in the casino, Rick's Place. "I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here," he says.

That line jumped into my head when I read to following in today's WaPo.

All the networks, of course, make editorial decisions to blow off what they view as lesser speeches in favor of their own anchors, correspondents and guests. And, of course, the talking heads like to talk.

Toward the end of Sharpton's speech, MSNBC broke away, with host Chris Matthews complaining that the reverend had gone on too long. "This is a partisan act here," he said. "We're taking him off the air."

Mr. Matthews, that big arena you were in, the signs being held up, the balloons above your head, the crowd of national party delegates...

THEY WERE ALL THERE FOR THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION!!!

Partisan? And what did he expect? A four day lecture on Einstein's Theory of Relatively.

Get a grip. That is like going to a hockey game and saying you are shocked that a fight broke out. What a sham!!!

If he were honest, he would say "I can't stand to be off camera for another 5 minutes, and you would rather listen to me and my Democratic and Republican panelists give their "partisan" views instead of the actual speakers at the convention...especially Al Sharpton's"

When will the insanity stop?
